Can Cau and Bac Ha markets cycling
This journey offers you a good chance to tour the beautiful, lively markets in the Northern Vietnam. The three days of cycling will offer you a nice incorporation with local charms. There have been something to awe you along the road with interesting view of people carrying their children on their shoulders. The charming girls are smiling at the markets. The little children with curious eyes devour the sight of Western visitors. Life has been quite different here from you left. It is such a nice insight into this corner of the earth. You may need an intermediate level of fitness to finish this tour as continuous cycling in the mountainous terrain have its own way of exhausting you. The journey aims at weekend markets so you ought to set off on Friday from Lao Cai to Bac Ngam where you have an outdoor lunch. After lunch, you may opt to travel to Bac Ha Town by either chartered car or bicycle. It is best that you weigh your options as the distance is quite considerable. A hotel room is waiting for you in Bac Ha town. The prime spot for Saturday is Can Cau market. The place of their market is filled with activities and colorful tribes. After lunch, you get to visit the nearby village dwelled by the tribes of Flower Hmong and Nung. Here you can have some corn liquor with the elders in the village. On Sunday, you get to visit the old house of a Hmong lord before heading out for the Sunday market. You have a short boat trip near the end and get a drive in a jeep back to Lao Cai Station.

Day 1: Friday
After having breakfast, you begin the journey from Lao Cai by riding a to Bac Ngam, while passing awesome landscape of the Red River Valley. It is estimated that you are at Bac Ngam by noon for a picnic lunch.
After lunch, you make your ways to Bac Ha town by either our vehicles or bicycles. You check in to a hotel for the 2 nights stay, then relax and have dinners.
Day 2: Saturday
Main attraction of this day is Can Cau Market. After a 1.5 hours riding, you arrive in the market, where you meet people from different tribal races. The whole morning is for you to explore the market, on lunch is served in picnic style on route.
After lunch, you have time visiting Ban Pho village of Flower Hmong and Nung minorities, where you might have a cup of corn wine and listen to the elders talking about their history and culture before back to your hotel in Bac Ha.
Day 3: Sunday
After morning coffee, you start the day with a visit the ancient castle of the former Hmong King, before having time at local markets and lunch at a local restaurants. When the lunch finish, you cycle downhill to Bao Nhai, where our boats are waiting for a short trip downstream the Chay River. You have time witnessing wonderful landscape on the two banks before reaching Coc Ly, where our jeep are await to take you back to Lao Cai Station. You can also return to Sapa for more trips exploring this charming land.
